Naming Auction for the FGO Conducting Prize

FGO's annual conducting workshop is now offering a grand prize

We are excited to announce the Naming Auction for the FGO Conducting Prize. At the Fort Greene Orchestra, we are dedicated to fostering the next generation of conductors. Our conducting workshop provides young talent the opportunity to work with a professional orchestra under the esteemed guidance of Juilliard Professor Maestro Mark Shapiro.

This year, for the first time, we will be awarding a prize to the best conductor, as democratically voted by both the orchestra and the professor. The prize includes a monetary award and the opportunity to serve as an assistant conductor for the upcoming season.

To support this initiative, we will be holding an auction to raise funds for the prize. The highest bidder will not only contribute to the future of classical music but will also receive the honor of naming the prize. This donation is tax-deductible and plays an instrumental role in nurturing the future of classical music.
